Durham County Soil and Water Conservation Supervisor
Boyd is a current Durham Soil and Water Conservation Associate Supervisor. She is committed to increasing education opportunities by hiring an environmental education staffer, & employing Durham Public Schools students on environmental restoration projects. Her Economic Development platform is focused on increasing urban agricultural and agribusiness opportunities in Durham County. We will accomplish this by; securing additional funding for financial assistance programs, expanding Farm-to-Table programs, and connecting farmers with essential technology
Priester is a current Durham Soil and Water Conservation Associate Supervisor. As your Soil and Water District Supervisor, he will be working with local farmers and Gardeners to educate and inform landowners about available funding opportunities and resources, promote local land ownership and offer beginner farming training and incentives. He will be working with a city to offer appliance upgrade assistance to Durham County homeowners to preserve and conserve water resources and fight for a better Farm Bill.

Bio: Anjali Boyd is a #DurhamNative, a Durham Public Schools graduate, a Black woman, a millennial, an entrepreneur, and a marine scientist. She is committed to using her experience, knowledge, the formal education I have been blessed to obtain, and her love for her hometown to connect with and promote advocacy for Durham County. She received a B.S. in Marine Science from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and she is currently a Ph.D. student at Duke University. Throughout her career, she has been awarded over 25 awards and scholarships and studied and conducted research at the most respected institutions in her discipline.
Bio: Terence Priester grew up in Halifax County, NC and has been in Durham for over 9 years. He received a BS in Criminal Justice Administration and a Master pf Public Administration from the University of Phoenix. As a mental health professional and community leader, he worked to ensure that members of the public, particularly marginalized communities, were informed and included as community projects developed. In 2017, Terence launched Embracing Word Church, a non-denominational Worship center where he serves as Senior Pastor. He serves as Community Outreach Coordinator for the United Covenant Churches of Christ. He is the North Carolina Program Implementation Assessment Director of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., and numerous other organizations. Terence lives in Durham with his wife, Shakeema, and their three children, Zion, Brianna, and Arriyl.
